October 6, 2007 -- HOOVER, ALA. --Victory Victory That's Our Cry!
Spud "HELL YEA I'M A POTATO"
Dick ran the two minute drill like he was Brett Farve on one of his
best days by driving the Tigers 66 yards in 6 plays to score on a 21
yard touchdown pass to Bryan "not taking a" Mulligan (golf reference)
with only 44 seconds remaining to pull the Tigers ahead by 4 points.
Dick, and yes it's still funny to type that, completed 5 of 6 on the
drive including another 20+ pass to Chris Gasbarra for a key third down
conversion. I think it's safe to say that if we were looking for the
new leader of the offense after Jeremiah Mark's absence, we've found
him! GO SPUD GO! (I'm bringing potato's to Monon...anyone? anyone?)
Picking
up the slack for Marks on his third missed game of the season was
Curtis Moore who scored two touchdowns on his way to rushing for nearly
200 yards proving that our offensive line is back on track and ready to
railroad & pancake block opposing defenses. Mmmm... pancakes...
anybody got some syrup? Also adding to our offensive prowess this past
weekend was Bryan "still not taking a" Mulligan with 9 catches for
91yrds, Jeff Bonner "Scholars" with 6 catches for 73 yards and Alex
"sounds like the beer but only spelled differently" Koors with 5
catches for 44yrds.
The big story for our Tigers, again, was our
Black Eye Defense. Holding a stout rushing attack to under 150 yards
kept the Panthers Time of Possession relatively low. This, obviously,
let our boy Spud go back to work with 1:59 remaining in the game. Pride
stickers should be awarded to my region rat boy Tyler Doane who had
eight tackles including 3.5 sacks on the day! Talk about pressure, the
Black Eye's got it done with 7 total sacks and one interception by our
shut down corner Jevon "don't call me Prime-Time" Pruitt.
The
Tigers and Panthers of BSC, sans Dr. Bottoms who was reported out for
the game with an "undisclosed" injury, played in front of a 3,500
member crowd in Birmingham, Al on BSC's first homecoming since 1939!
Talk about walking into the lions den and ruining a good party. The
game was tight from the beginning of the second quarter and the teams
traded scoring until the final gun leaving our Old Gold Boys at an
impressive 4-1 on the season.
Next up? Our arch in-conference
rivals Trinity Tigers. That's right, those pesky maroon and silver
Tigers who seem to always put our playoff hopes just out of reach. We
need a HUGE pep band showing for this one troops because it's fall
break and it'll be hard for people to stay on campus. PLEASE PLEASE let
Ashley and Colonel Ziegler (

September 22, 2007 -- SEWANEE, TENN. -- Without our star running back (and no, Jeremiah "still hit his" Marks),
the Tigers still prevailed on a twenty carry for 76 yards and two
touchdown day from back-up Dorrius "Thunderbird" Ford. If anyone knows
Thunderbird, you better congratulate him on such a great day!

September 15, 2007 -- GREENCASTLE, IND. -- First off, what's really important: If you didn't listen to our DePauw
Men battle on Saturday, then you didn't hear how UNBELIEVABLE the TPB
sounded! Deep and incredibly loud tone that I'm sure was the envy of
our Centre College opponents. Great job to our fearless leaders and
there band of merry men & women!
