February 21, 2008 -- GREENCASTLE, IND. -- This morning, it was announced that Dr. Brian W. Casey will become DePauw University's nineteenth president, and the Tiger Alumni Bands and Stumblebums is pleased to welcome him to the Univesrity. In his remarks today, Casey explained that he had researched DePauw intently and found that its students and alumni were truly "in love" with their college.
"Dave and I are excited to have Dr. Casey joining our DePauw family," said Daniel Reck '03, director of the Tiger Alumni Bands. "He brings a positive energy which we hope will strenthen the bond between the university, its students, and its alumni."
The Tiger Alumni Bands Executive Council drafted a welcome letter to Dr. Casey, who will finish this academic year at Harvard University as associate dean for academic affairs in the Faculty of Arts and Science, and looks forward to meeting Dr. Casey personally when he arrives in Greencastle this July.

Greetings Dr. Casey:
On behalf of alumni of the
DePauw Bands and the Tiger Pep Band, we welcome you to DePauw University and congratulate you on your appointment to the
presidency.
As we listened to your
remarks during the press conference in Indianapolis this morning, we were excited that you have
recognized our love for our alma mater and are interested in strengthening that
bond further. The Tiger Alumni Bands organization
works to unite the DePauw alumni and student communities through music, spirit,
and public performance, and we look forward to working with you toward our
shared goals in support of the University as a jewel of liberal arts education.
We wish you well as you
conclude your tenure at Harvard University, and look forward to welcoming you in person when you
arrive in Greencastle this July. Until
