 November 16, 2006 - Greencastle, Ind. - Brian Goad '02, a former WGRE broadcaster who frequently announced Tiger Basketball games and gave more than a couple on-air nods to the Tiger Pep Band over the years is involved with a band called TGL. Goad and fellow band members John Sibbit '08 and William Cath '09, director Michael McIlraith '04 and producers Brandon Dawson '06, Denton Jacobs '02 and Michael Valentine '04 created a music video that was filmed on campus at DePauw University. DePauw students and alumni will recognize south quad, the Performing Arts Center, Burkhart Walk, the Lilly Center, the Hub, and several other campus locations in the video.
TGL has entered their video in a contest on the popular YouTube website. The song is Blue Star Highway. The top twenty vote recipients will advance to the finals and judges will select four winners. Winners will perform on Good Morning America and receive gear from Gibson guitars as well as a shot at a contract.
Voting ends tonight, Thursday, November 16 at midnight. Current standings aren't posted, but comparing the number of times the video has been viewed to other entries, we estimate that TGL is at least in the top 30. With your help, we can make a final push and get TGL into the top 20 and these guys into the finals.
